The Standard Miami is a perfect example of a Mid-century modern piece of architecture which had out-lived its useful life and location. The hotel was a throw-back to the days when Morris Lapidus was defining the look and feel of Miami Beach. The Standard, Miami (an affiliate of the Standard Brand) was created using the original form of the Lido Spa hotel but with the mind set of a comfortable, reasonably priced spa retreat off the main path of South Beach.

Claro Development was brought in as the Owner’s Representative to project manage the complete renovation of the property. With the exception of the building structure and front façade, the entire property was gutted and rebuilt. New life safety systems, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems were installed throughout the property. The lobby was reinvented as a hip modern entry foyer to the property.
